#DPSPAR 1.25/Windows/etc.

To Alan & Brick –
Voila! The last two suggestions solved all my problems (I've even stop losing
hair – not).
I used the S-VHS out from the board to the TV , using a 50 foot Monster Cable,
and the view on the screen is EXCELLENT. And, I no longer require Windows to
run PAR.EXE (which I had to do with PAR version 1.09). I no longer get the
Integer Divide by Zero message that I got previously. In fact, I'm still able
to use my old memory manager (Netroom 3.02), which I prefer because of all the
base memory it frees up by loading video and bios high.
Alan, I wanted to pass along the easy installation suggestion you had for me –
1. Rename the current PAR directory to something new, such as DPSPAR (the
default is DPS_PAR)
2. Create a new directory with the same name as the directory that is
currently indicated in your system's path statement (in my case it was DPS_PAR)
3. Copy the DPS_ALL file found on this forum to the new directory, and
unzip it into that directory – an install.exe file and another zip file will
appear. Delete the install.exe file, and unzip the remaining file
4. Restart your computer (CRITICAL)
5. When the system boots, the init software in your startup files should
locate your PAR board and hard drive(s)
6. CAREFULLY review Brick Eksten's installation/beta release notes for
what should occur (posted here)
7. If operation appears to be correct, you can delete the old directory
when you feel comfortable doing so. If not, you can rename directories again to
make the existing config info point to the old PAR software
Brick/Alan – any other suggestions? Worked for me!
thanks again,
bob
You're most welcome, Bob.
Sounds like you're up 'n' running nicely!
Have fun,
-Alan
