Hello there, Me and DiP – The Digital ComPuter Magazine – arrived to CIS-land just a few days ago. I thought it would be clever – for both you and me! – to announce that the entire English edition of DiP Number 1 plus some extra releases will available as FREEWARE in various CIS spots. DiP is probably the first full-length Windows Digizine to be published. – If I am wrong, then I am happy to not be alone anymore! – It is published n the WinHelp format with all the bells and whistles this little powerful pearl hides behind all boring help files you have on your disk. Today you can find a DiPpetizer with "Animation Made Easy" featuring Gold Disk Animation Works Interactive and HSC Kai's Power Tools (1.0 and 2.0) as the MegaStars. Other important co-stars are Altamira Composer, Micrografx Picture Publisher and Fractal Design Painter and PainterX2. A sample animation made with these tools can be started from within DiP. You will find a lot of short software summaries including: Autodesk Animator Pro, Blue Sky Software RoboHELP, WexTech Doc-To-Help and other "Help Helpers", Fauve Matisse, Adobe Photoshop 2.5.1 and 3.0, Visual Reality, Caligari trueSpace, Pixar Typestry and many more programs. DiP got the rather long subtitle "Everyboy's Guide to Digital Publishing and Digital Pictures" and that is the main DiP profile right now and in the future. This orientation will also include other Windows Sweets like any kind of useful software that makes the life as a Windows user more pleasant and FUN. Learn more about DiP RIGHT NOW? If you can stand to download some 800 K, I am sure you will find something of interest. If you are not so familiar with what the Windows Help Files CAN look like, then you're in for a surprise! You will need Windows 3.1 and an 800 by 600 display to "read" DiP. In DIPCHOP1.EXE – available next week – you will find some "Chop Offs from the DiP Archives" where I browse through all the DiP images and find a few worth some words outside the normal DiP material.
