I went to AA Computers in Anne Arundel County, Maryland to buy two 8520
chips for my Amiga 2000 and was told by a clerk there that he couldn't
sell me any parts for the Motherboard over the counter because it was in
the store's contract as an authorized Commodore Dealer. He advised me to
bring in my Amiga and he would look at it for 35 dollars. Is this just a
con job to make money or what? If this was just a line to get my computer
to the store, what can be done about it? I thought Commodore was defunct.
Can I make a complaint to them about one of their "Authorized Dealers" and
if so, where and how? Thanks for any suggestions.

There is no one in Commodore to complain to. Dealers weren't supposed
to sell parts without an exchange part. There was supposed to be a hefty
premium for parts with no exchange.
