I just installed my new Kurta XGT 12×12 dig. tablet and I am very pleased with it except for one annoying problem. First of all, I am running it with 3DS under Summa emulation (as specified by Kurta tech support — why doesn't the 3DS ADI driver work for this tablet, AutoCad's does). Periodically when I am performing some action that requires clicking and dragging (I have the pressure pen stylus) my system locks up cold. Only a hard boot or reset gets it back, ctrl+alt+del is no workie. Is John Tissavary reading this? I know he uses the Kurta and the same video board as me (MGA Ultima+ 2/4MB). Have you experienced this John? Anyone else? Thanks! -Tyler

I have it as well. The only way to use reliably is to use it in mouse emulation mode.

<<have you used the MS dos mouse driver?>> Do you mean the Kurta DOS Mouse emulation driver or the actual DOS mouse driver?

Sorry- the Kurta mouse driver. I have the MS dos driver installed too but I do not point to it. I Installed the MS dos driver first so I could use it as a backup mouse. and then the Kurta driver. -Brandon

I think it's a Kurta no-no to have a mouse driver tsr loaded along with the Kurta driver. At least it is in my version of the software (perhaps out of date…) John Tissavary (LUNA cie, inc)

Well it funny when it [Kurta] was on my 486 having two drivers loaded was the only way that I could get it to work with Windows. But now with my Micron 90 I only use the Kurta driver and it work's very well. -Brandon

Sounds good, I do like my Kurta and it came with Dabler. Now only if I could get Dabler to run on my Micron 90. It runs ok ont the 486. <g>

You cannot use a tablet reliably in 3DS. Your best bet is to use Kurta's K_CONFIG and go into relative mouse mode for 3DS. It still works beautifully, though you don't get "absolute" resolution. John Tissavary (LUNA cie, inc)

Thanks for the tips. I think it is working ok now. The default (P5) mouse personality didn't work which is why I was confused. After I used the proper F-key combination I was able to make it work. I love my Kurta! Makes a joke out of that old MS Mouse I was using. 🙂
