Printing Problems
4 messages in this thread
Hi,
I have a printing problem with FW3 as well as with other printing utilities (
One Blank page is output by the printer after the printed page and this happens
with my LaserJet4L and my DeskJet500 ), don't you think there is a hardware
problem with my A4000/040 ? I have double checked all the printer settings
which are " single sheet ", " DIN A4, (I use A4 paper) ". All the software
settings are correct then it must be a harware problem, don't you think so ?
Please help !

Phillipe,
not necessarily. As Wolf Faust has pointed out, there seems to be a buglet
in the FW interface to printer drivers that can cause an extra, blank, sheet to
be printed. I only stopped it here by switching HP LaserJet drivers until the
problem went away. You might want to try some of the other drivers in our
Printer Drivers library.

Been there…. Done that…. Better.
Brian,
I downloaded all the available laserjet 4 drivers I could find here on CIS. One
(HP_LJ_4) finally did solve the problem of the extra blank sheet but it doesn't
give as much control over the printer possibilities than the driver I
previously used (L4JBoost). I think in fact that the problem should be fixed at
the root. i.e. in FinalWriter which BTW is a real killer but should be cured of
this lamentable bug.

Philippe,
Both my 3000 and 1200 were printing extra pages with both FW3 and 4. Upon the
suggestion of SoftWood I fiddled around with the page setup in FinalWriter. I
no longer have any problems.
