Chinon 525 and Shapeshif

Is anyone using the Chinon 525 CDrom drive with either Shapeshifter and Emplant? I can't get shapeshifter 3.1 to recognize it (although it does recognize my 535) and Emplant just wants to reformat it. Thanks. John
