Can anyone tell me where to find locale.library? Also, can anyone tell me which is the best shareware virtual memory manager program? ….Via Autopilot and Gforce 040/33. // …Only Amiga makes it possible \\/

Kenton, <Can anyone tell me where to find locale.library?> Should be in your libs:. It comes with the OS and is thus copyrighted. If you don't have it on your installation disks it may not be supported with the OS version you have. I know it's supported in OS 3.1 but am not sure where it made its first appearance (2.0? 2.1?). If you're running OS 3.1 (or 3.0) and you don't have it anywhere (on your orginal disk set) you might try to get your dealer to replace it for you. Asha @}–`–,-

Kenton, <I looked in my libs but couldn't find it. I have 2.04 roms and 2.05 OS.> Then it either got introduced in OS 2.1 or 3.X….. In any event, to get it you'll have to upgrade as the library is copyrighted. Asha @}–`–,-

1. Purchase Workbench 2.1 or higher. No one can give a 2.0 user locale.library legally. Even with just the library, other assigns and stuff will not be correct unless you have the full Workbench 2.1, with Locale preferences, and more. If you already have 2.1 or higher, it is on your Workbench disk. 2. Try VMM. I use VMM 2.1 on my A3000 68030 and it is basically flawless. I could not tell you how it works with a 68040, but it is supposed to have a 68030 and a 68040 version. The MMUs are different, but I'd assume the 68040 version is at least as fast and works as well.

I have 2.05 and am not going to buy another 2.xx version just for a VMM. I paid enough for what I have now. thanks anyway. ….Via Autopilot and Gforce 040/33. // …Only Amiga makes it possible \\/

Kenton, VMM is not part of 2.05 or any other Commodore OS release. Ian was talking about locale.library…that's part of the OS release….and it legally can't be given away…it comes as part of the OS purchase. Don
