HELP- I'M DESPERATE!!!!! Is there any kind of IPAS routine available that can plot animation info as modifiable curves? I've been animating with Alias, Softimage, and 3-D Studio now for 2 years, and I have realized how I'm addicted to function curves and I can't imagine working without them! Any suggestions? Thanks! Hi Debbie, << Any suggestions? >> Check out the following demo of Tempo… File Info for TEMPO.ZIP Section: IPAS Usage Contributor: 76702,413 Size: 95383 Submitted: 5/1/94 Type: Binary Accesses: 307 Title: Yost Group IPAS Tempo kxp velocity motion editor. Keys: YOST GROUP IPAS3 TEMPO KXP VELOCITY MOTION EDITOR DEMO This file contains a working version of Tempo kxp, but cannot write keyframes back out to the Keyframer. Tempo is a velocity motion editor for position and rotation tracks, allowing you to draw motion curves for objects using bezier splines, apply constant velocity or acceleration, fractalize motion, and do previews in real time. I just downloaded TEMPO, and its kind of cool, but (at least from what I could tell) it dosn't really do what I want. It seems to be more of a tension/continuity/bias modifier as opposed to actually graphically changing rotation and translation values. For example, when I looked at the rotation curves, there was no way (that I could see) to isolate just the X-rotation and modify the values by changing the curves. Am I missing something? Thanks for the help, Debbie Berne

Hi Debbie, << seems to be more of a tension/continuity/bias modifier as opposed to actually graphically changing rotation and translation values >> Ah.. yes. Tempo is a KXP that lets you edit and view the *velocity* of objects. Specifically, it allows you to edit the positional velocity of objects, lights, cameras and targets..edit the rotational velocity of objects..etc. jonas[adesk]

In addition to Tempo, as mentioned by Jonas, 3DS has a native Keyscript language and The Script Extensions which allow you to "roll your own" functions, as long as you don't mind a little code. — James — Choreo Motion —
