Hi to all, for a Trailer I have to write a word with a flash. I know that there is a flash producing IPAS from Schreiber but I saw the images it produces in the IPAS reference book. That`s not what I need. I need a realistic looking, glowing, sparks producing, exploding flash! I can use the glow with LenzFX Aura, the sparks with VAPOR but what can I do to make a flash with its fractal look. I`m think of a modelling approach but is this really the best way? Can`t believe. So what would the hollywood professionals do to create such an effect ( BTW: I don`t have Alias/Wavefront )????? Thank you very much in advance. Michael

Michael, >> I need a realistic looking, glowing, sparks producing, exploding flash!… So what would the hollywood professionals do to create such an effect << quite often I'd guess they'd use a combination or layered effect often using real live action shot on film. The first thing that came to my mind was an arc welder, filmed on black velvet for easy keying. That would look great. If that's not in the budget, I'd suggest a combination of particle systems and Lenzfx2 + Inferno effects.

Hi Martin, nothing is in the budget <g>. I agree with you and try to use paricles (for the sparks) and glowing with LenzFx. Maybe I can upload a flic in a few weeks. BTW: did you get the RayMan NDA we faxed last week? Michael
