Well,
With a 1 Gig drive I doubt this could be the problem, but I had the exact same
error message a week or so ago. The problem turned out to be that the hard
disk was completely full and the machine was trying to page.
Maybe that's it. I hope it's that simple.

No Matt, that cannot be the problem as I still have 570 megs free. BUT my mouse
died in the middle of rendering..of course..loosing everything. I must learn to
save before doing anything. I have had this problem when rendering materials,
rendering blowups, rendering a region, and I cannot pin down exactly what is
the point that gives me this error. Well, I guess saving at lot before every
change and step will at least keep me from loosing everything. I am not doing
much animation, but a lot of SMALL 3d graphics..SO size cannot be the problem.
Most things I render are under 30K. I guess it is CROSS FINGERS and SAVE time.
