Ray; I just recently got an SVHS monitor for my PAR. Prior to that, I was using an old Commodore computer monitor. The new monitor is obviously better, but only in colors, and crispness of detail. If you have some strange images, maybe you have a bad chip on the board. I would suggest making a .STL image, and sending it to DPS. If the still images look good, then make an animation to tape, of both composite, and SVHS and send it to DPS. Let them see what it looks like and decide if your board has a problem. I have been extremely happy with mine in only composite mode. FWIW, Dennis

Dennis- I tried a different deck, an SVHS with S-Video inputs and that improved the image quality to passable. I'm still not sure what was causing the problems with the checkerboarded edges. Could be cables or the deck itself. It had not occured to me that the PAR might have a problem but it does seem that the composite out has had that problem each time I've tried it. Glad to hear your getting good results in composite. -Ray
