It's happenned … now I need help!! I have decided to go for the digital video setup. I am looking for expert opinions and advice regarding my purchase… PVR or PAR? Which Pentium Adaptec 3940? Which drives and how many of them? RAID? NT or 95 or both? I already have Premiere 4.0. Is it gonna work with the PVR or PAR? Currently have VO5800 and an AG7750. Need TC Card for the AG7750 What do I need to connect the AG to the PAR and which software to control it? Thanks!!!

Number needed depends on your project sizes. You could always start with one of each and see. Prices going down make this stategy a reasonable one. >> RAID? << probably not necessary unless you have some special application or network needs. If you have high-powered needs you might consider Speed Razor Mach III by in:sync which runs under NT. They have Razor Pro for regular Windows. >> Currently have VO5800 and an AG7750. Congratulations if its recently. I did some work with them while I was at Boss Film for 7 years… Good Luck!

I almost missed my kids growing up! Glad I left but I sort of miss the hustle… the 422 control will exist on PVR NT! BTW I am going for a system with a 9GIG. And a Fast Wide SCSI on the Pentium. I guess the Pentium will need at least a 4 gig also eh? I got the update on the way for Premiere… But I have a question… When you use something like Premiere to assemble a film from ANI files on the PVR drives, the codec knows enough to put the resulting file on the PVR and makes an AVI image on the Host PC, yes?

We've barely scratched the surface of it's potential and haven't done anything with AVI's, so I don't feel very qualified to answer your question. I would guess that the answer is yes and that the PVR's avi codec merely points to files on the PVR.

Mainly games, but you can dual boot.
