Is anyone using Premiere 4.0 <not 4.0a> for their editing with the PAR? I would like everyones experience. Ours: Horrible! Won't work with the ATI video cards we have on a consistent basis. Love Premiere when it works. Love Razor Pro too but its not as versatile. Later…

Hello Mark I Use the Version 4.0 and I never had a problem. At work I use a Compaq with their own Video Card. and at home I use Hercules Chrome. What problems are you having. Are there any error messages. Ray

Mark, I use Premiere/Par with an ATI Mach32 and have no problems. Also use Razor Pro, the RP solution is quicker unless you need some of the features the P4.0 offers. Brendan G.

>>>Is anyone using Premiere 4.0 <not 4.0a> for their editing with the PAR?<<< One thing for sure that will kill you with Premiere and PAR is the 4:3 aspect ratio bug in the MOTION options box. Nick S. (Premiere Programmer) told me that bug got ported over from the MAC version. The PAR is not 4:3 and all MOTION previews OK but renders MANY MANY pixels too high up in the image and randomly goofs for me….. -David. -David Robert Swoboda

YES! I get that problem! Also, sometimes the transitions don't preview. Just see an "X". This is an ATI driver problem. Adobe and ATI are aware of it. And sometimes it just locks up! The ATI Mach64 card is a very popular card. You would think Adobe would do this right. I hate the PAR-to-AVI conversion stuff you have to do too. Can't Adobe write software directly for the PAR? It this is such a hot program why can In:sync and Elastic Reality do it right and not Adobe? Unless 4.0a is much better I'm going to shelve it until the bugs are worked out. I prefer Premiere to Razor because of all the cool filters and transitions that you can see in thumbnails and preview but Razor is too rock-solid to switch. Thanks !
