I'm considering to integrate 35mm film facilities into my 3D offer. Therefore I need to know a few things from people who already have experience in this matter. These are the things I need to know. * Which is the appropriate resolution and aspect ratio to render to 35mm Film and how is the file size handled considering the huge storage capacity ? * Is there a basic price for shooting a frame to 35mm ? Any experience and comment is welcome ! Danny.

Danny, >> * Which is the appropriate resolution and aspect ratio to render to 35mm Film << are you talking about stills or animation to film? We send animations to a film recorder at 2048×1536 x 1.0 (pixel aspect ratio) gamma 1.0. >> how is the file size handled considering the huge storage capacity? << lots of large hardrives, typically 9gb SCSI fast and wide differential, on a fiber optic backboned network. Even with this it takes a while to transfer the data and shoot to film – I don't know exactly how long, because we have a person who does this for the animators. >> * Is there a basic price for shooting a frame to 35mm ? << well, I remember paying about US$10 for a slide a few years ago.
