>>Ermm, can I acsess your BBS through the Net?, I live in the UK so a phone call would be very expensive LOL, If I can avsses it through the Net how can I ?, oh.. and whats the cost?<< I don't have TELNET access to the BBS through the internet set up yet. I intend to do it when the time is right, but some things still have to happen locally first with respect to lines and service providers. Re cost, dollar amounts are not allowed on CIS but I can say that the monthly rate is about the price of a fast food meal. <G> >>Super Vary sounds very good, I'm also a beliver in Vary!<< Yeah, they can be very useful – I uploaded a dialog screen shot of SuperVary 2 if you'd like to see what that looks like. Thanks, Jim

Thanks for the Repley Jim, I look forward to the loss of a Big Mac for per month for access to your BBS, Please post an announcement for when you set up the Telnet Access, Is it possible you could set up a CD-Rom that people in the UK could buy of some of the best stuff there? Matt:)

>>Thanks for the Repley Jim, I look forward to the loss of a Big Mac for per month for access to your BBS, Please post an announcement for when you set up the Telnet Access,<< I'll let you know when I have the Rendering Plant BBS hooked up to the Internet for Telnet access. Thanks for your interest. >>Is it possible you could set up a CD-Rom that people in the UK could buy of some of the best stuff there?<< No plans at present. However, since we're now creating our own meshes, I'll be doing one of those for our stuff eventually. The gray areas about rights, originality, ownership, etc. on the PD meshes are not an issue with stuff we created from scratch. Thanks, Jim

What sort of Meshes do you make, are you doing a sort of Viewpoint thing, you may have had a big campaign about this, but as I'm in the UK I'll never have heard LOL, Will my Dealership in the UK have a list of your Products? Matt 🙂

>>As some one who keeps making Star Trek stills, I understand the fine line bit, many of the Shareware forums here have very good Doc's on copyright etc on Shareware products, perhaps they could help?<< It's not just the Star Wars thing… the big problem with rights for an on-line graphics-oriented system is that you have to hope that your uploaders and your sources are not posting copyrighted material. This may be as small as someone who got a mesh from a friend as a favor and then posted it for the heck of it. One year later it's on Avalon, etc., and the original guy finds out and he's mad because he never intended for the mesh to be PD. Similarly, I have to guard against jokers who might modify and re-distribute Viewpoint or Acuris products, etc. That's the main problem for me, for doing a CD with files I got from non-confirmable sources. >>What sort of Meshes do you make, are you doing a sort of Viewpoint thing, you may have had a big campaign about this, but as I'm in the UK I'll never have heard LOL, Will my Dealership in the UK have a list of your Products?<< My on-line service presently is just a source of good files via long distance modeming. When the CD comes out, we'll definitely post the news. If you can send an address for my files, I'll be sure to mail you directly on any product news. The IPAS we are completing – "Schools, Flocks, and Herds" is a separate product you may be interested in. Let me know if you'd like some mail or would be interested in a UK-based dealership. Thanks, Jim

Jim: Would periodically put up a "allfiles.txt" for your bbs. I got a copy from somewhere, but it's a couple of months old. I'd be interested in seeing what you have available. Thanx, LAM

Jim PS: I'm looking into compiling your SELECT script as an IPAS, thought I'd see what you thought of that.

RE: dir list. Sounds good to me! Other people might also be interested in seeing a copy out in the libs, though. (can you say free advertising? I thought you could <g>). RE: Select. I hereby release select into the public domain. Feel free to fold, spindle, and/or mutilate. No rights reserved, unless you make a million off it, it which case we should talk <g>. I assume you mean including the select routine as part of a larger ipas routine. Right? LAM

>>RE: dir list. Sounds good to me! Other people might also be interested in seeing a copy out in the libs, though. (can you say free advertising? I thought you could <g>).<< I don't know if Compuserve would welcome it, with TRP being a commercial on-line service. I could ask Anne Brown, though… >>RE: Select. I assume you mean including the select routine as part of a larger ipas routine. Right?<< Well, you're right, I dug into it and it's a utility for better scripts. I was referring to the script Kyle McKisic used to select faces based on normal direction. He called it "SELECT.ZIP" and said it was on CIS in his article for Planet Studio. I'm going to see if I can find the PXP script that Kyle was referring to. Thanks, Jim

RE: Kyle's select routine. Great minds think alike <g>. I specifically had to add some code to my select to make sure the correct select.3de file was being loaded. Got a couple of questions on problems which ended up being another select.3de file was present. Now I know whom to blame. Oh well… LAM
