I had a clip on FlyerB0: called WorldPrem.1 that was from a LW 3.5 anim
rendered as a clip in probably 4.02. It's been playing back fine under 4.06.
Then in LW 4.0, I rendered a new version of the same clip, but named
WorldPrem.2 in order to do a comparison of the clips created by each LW
version. But – guess what! When WorldPrem.2 finished rendering, WOrldPrem.1
was no longer on the drive!?!?

Whooooa! I'll see if we can replicate that error here, but I've done some
short run renders with .1 and .2 extensions with no trouble, just in the last
couple days.

Ooops! False alarm on this one. I checked back in my notes and found that,
when I did a re-org on that drive it changed the anims icon. Being too stupid
to figure out how th change an icon without creating a new clip (I'm assuming
that IS a feature somewhere, right?) I created the .2 file with new Icon from
cutting room and deleted .1 and forgot to rename it. So when I rendered and
set the file to .2 I clobbered it.
Now, about those icon re-writes. For some reason or other, re-org seems to
change icons and I haven't figured the pattern. I had recreated my long clip
after the machine got back with 4.04 on it. Then I re-rog'd once sometime
after which I played back the long clip. Aside from the color shifr I
mentnioned to you before it played back fine. I re-orged again today, and the
icon got changed to the generic clip icon (film stip thingy) and the clip only
plays the first minute of a 16 min clip. Well actually, it just keeps showing
a 'torn' version of a frame from about 1 min into the clip until the 16 minutes
is up with no drive activity after the first minute.
Anyway, that is the least of my problems: the bit of having to remove and
re-insert the Flyer card everytime I want to turn on the machine is the problem
I would really like to get solved. It's now at the point where I don't even
have to run the FLyer in the session prior to the one when I want to boot. But
it does appear thermal or potentially some capacitive bleed thing as if I leave
it for a few hours it generally starts again.

With this message and the private posting on the WF/VS results, I should be
able to get something figured out with the engineers.
We have identified and fixed some further bugs that cause problems particularly
with GVP accelerated systems, and your backward-operating sliders were one of
the symptoms of that.
The icon screw-ups are not limited to re-org. This is also something we are
working on.
