Hi all…got a quick question on alpha compositing. I'm building a text
animation to use in an Authorware app and I would like to overlay the flying
text flic on top of a background. It seems that in Authorware it is cheaper
memorywise to lay a background on one "page" and then import the flic onto the
next "page" which overlays the previous "page", rather than building the flic
with background intact. Anyway…the question is; how can I get some sort of
alpha compositing of the flc on the background when it is ultimately mated
together in Authorware. (I am rendering to Targas with alpha on) Would a
traveling matte do the trick? thanks all
Are you rendering a FLIC or targa's? FLICS have no alpha information, but, of
course, 32-bit .TGA's do. The only way to composite a flic is to use a key
color which acts as transparent when compositing. Authorware has this doesn't
it?
