Is/was DataCAD the name of the Amiga Cad program from a company in
Canada? (I know it was D—-CAD). Are they still supporting the
Amiga? Does anyone prefer a different Amiga Cad program? Any
comments on DataCad?

I think DynaCadd is the name of the company you are looking for. I reviewed it
for a British mag a few years ago. I don't know whether it is still supporting
the Amiga, though.

I think DynaCadd is still supported for the Amiga. They had a booth at the
Cologne show, and the most recent version of the program will not need a
dongle any more.

I use DynaCADD in my architectural practice and can't say enough about it. It
is a very powerful and well written piece of work. It is easier to use than
AutoCad and is as capable as AutoCad and MicroStationt. My last phone
conversation wiih DynaCADD a few months ago indicated they are moving on to PC
platforms.
I use DynaCADD in my architectural practice and I can't say enough good things
about it. It has brought big-office CAD capabilities to my one-man office. It
is easier to use than AutoCad and can exchange files with AutoCad and Imagine.
It includes 3D CAD. It is very powerful and well written. In my opinion, it is
very comparable to AutoCad and Intergraph's MicroStation. In my last phone
conversations with them a few months ago they indicated they were moving on to
PC platforms and Windows. It sure would be nice if the Amiga community urged
them to continue their support for the Amiga. Dave Geenen, architect.

well, I think there has been a PC version of DynaCADD since day one. The
manuals I got with my Amiga version of DynaCADD are actually those written
for the PC.
I agree that it is a very powerful CAD program, and I prefer the Amiga
version to everything I have seen on PC systems. On the Amiga, you can
handle very complex drawings using DynaCADD with much more ease than on a
PC equipped with the same amount of RAM.

Werner, I didn't know DynaCADD had a PC version from day one. They do
seem to be neglecting their Amiga effort nowdays. What type of work

The program you refer to is DynaCad. It is still available, it was anyway on
the last Amigashow in Cologne. Current version is 2.04, 3.0 has been announced
over two years ago, so development on the amiga-side is somewhat stalled. But
the 3.0 version for PC exists, and can even render.
I suppose the mothercompany is located in Canada, but they have a subdivision
in Germany. Could look up the address if you want.
