I'm using a toshiba 3501 with my 4000 through my emplant scsi port.It works perfect with the mac with a driver I downloaded from a mac forum,except for audio discs,no can do. On the amiga side it can play audio discs and I can read data disks but sometimes w/data disks it will lockup the computor where I have to power down.When I play audio disks it seems to read the disk about 25% of the time.I'm sure the lockup problem is from driver problems or the fact that the drive is a scsi2 and I have it hooked to a scsi1. // Gary B. Gary; Thanks for your comments. How is the speed of the Toshiba with Mac emulation? What drive program are you using for it? Hank

I'm using a program called toshiba cdrom 1.5.2,and the drive seems faster then my emulation can handle at this time.If utilities unlimited ever starts development and ships thier MP + vidieo board that might change.

Gary: Just to let you know, it seems that many of the CDROM compatability problems when using the Emplant's SCSI port has been traced to the LOGIC 53C80 SCSI controller chip used in many of deluxe Emplant's. Although Jim hasn't stated this himself, apparently if you are having problems Utilities Unlimited will replace the chip. I get the SCSI lockup myself every once in awhile on my Toshiba 3401 on the Emplant SCSI port but it hasn't been enough of a pain yet for me to get the new chip.
