Thanks for the info, Bruce. I did open it up and find the HCT08 so I
thought maybe you'd done a replacement for it even simpler than the
Sync Strainer. Can the Sync Strainer serve as a substitue (albeit
the SS is 'more' than needed here) for the -01 adapter? Thanks. If
it can, I'll just recommend people buy Sync Strainers as they do the
job for multisync/Toaster combos, too.
Yes, the Sync Strainer is backward compatible with the -01 adapter.
It will drive the H and V sync lines to the satisfaction of any RGB
monitor. IF the RGB monitor is capable of operating at a horizontal
rate of 15.7 kHz, then the genlock modes are supported.
We're finding that, as the old 1084's fail, users are switching over
to multisync monitors (like those from CEI and CD Solutions). Having
the Sync Strainer already would facilitate the monitor upgrade.
