Is there an IPAS out there that takes a choosen number of objects (like a few hundred of them) and renames all of them to a prefix (like Object) followed by a number (In the form Object01, Object02, etc). Or maybe there' s a script. If it doesn't exist, maybe someone wants to program one. Serge, if you read this, how about this for a one day free IPAS toy. – Neil

I'm sure it would, but my scripting knowledge is at present limited. Anyone nice enough to do it and post it to Cserve? – Neil

Actually, based on a set of messages in the script section, there is not a rename function in TSE. You would have to copy the object to the new name and delete the old one. You would also loose any keyframe data. LAM

>> You would also loose any keyframe data. << Very true. Niel, if you have TSE (the scripting utility built into 3ds isn't enough to do it since it cannot create objects) and aren't worried about loosing keyframe data, I would be happy to post a script to do what you ask. lemme know… – Dan / n-Space, Inc.

I have the script IPAS built into 3ds4 and that's it. If it's enough, I'd love a script. If not, ah well. Thanks in advance… – Neil

Ok, thanks anyway. Maybe if I get the script extensions I'll send you a message. Well actually, maybe if I get the extensions, I'll be able to do it myself. – Neil
