#Autocad Display Driver?

If someone could answer my question, I would greatly appreciate it. Here is
the situation. I loaded Autocad R.12 on my P5-120, but when I try to run the
program I get the following msgs:
"VASE.dcl": Can't open file
Error loading dialogue control file.
**ERROR** No display driver is installed at the interrupt vector 07A **
Please correct display adapter/configuration inconsistency.
FATAL ERROR: Can't start display driver.
Apparently, I don't have the correct display driver installed. Can anyone tell
what the proper driver is and where I can get it? Also, what is the dialogue
control file, i.e., it function? Thank you for taking the time to read and
respond.

Somehow you have ended up in the multimedia forum rather than the AutoCAD
forum. If however, you GO ACAD, then I'm certain that someone will be able to
give you a hand. 🙂
As for R12 and the display driver, you need to launch AutoCAD with the the
command ACAD -R and then reconfigure for an ADI 4.2 display driver. Start with
a basic VGA driver. You cna change that later.
As for the DCL file that wasn't found, I suspect that you need to launch
AutoCAD (once your video is configured) with the ACAD batch file. This file
should set the proper environment variables so that all of the AutoCAD support
files are found.
