Have read comments by others re RAM Module and Chipmunk and have comments M100 goes with me many places, always with PCSG's Write ROM (Excellent), usually with Olympus Pearlcorder 5803 for mass storage, and sometimes with Brother EP44 as printer. This load of hardware is tolerable and there have been no problems with data retrieval from microcassette; but none in the many months of use. Coonsidered Chipmunk, but held off because (1) too stupid to master another dos and (2) too much hardware to lug. My 64K is from PGD. Agree with others that it is splendid hardware. Data transfer utility is a different story. Peculiar handling by PGD. Standard page in RAM instrudtion manual says Utility will be supplied in two to three weeks free of charge. If the utility existed, and their ads said it did, why was it standard practice to delay sending it? In fact, it was not sent until I complained. Eventually it arrived – a cassette and a semi-literate instruction pamphlet containing dire warnings which suggested that, after certain, not altogether unlikely operating sequences of operations, the owner might have to throw his computer away. Taking courage in both hands, I killed all my BASIC programs per the manual instructions and tried to CLOAD the utility with another standard size cassette recorder that I have used sucfully in the past. Screen reported "FOUND MENU1" and followed that good news immediately with the bad news: "? IO ERROR". Same thing repeatedly with both tracks on the tape. A rude communication from me got a very courteous reply from PGD's president, Peter G. Van Heusen, who said he was enclosing a second cassette. His letter came in a letter-size envelope, which did not enclose the cassette, and no second cassette ever arrived. Having learned that this utility, if it had loaded, would have preempted 1432 bytes in each of the three 32K banks, I have done notheing further about the matter. Have others had better luck with the Data Transfer Utility?
