I have an A2091 HD controller fitted with Quantum 540 Lightning. The
drive seems to hang somtimes, leaving the hard disk light on. I
pressume tthat I should update the A2091 ROMs from 6.6 to version 7.
Are there anyother chips that should be updated at the same time.
(I use WB3.1)

David,
first make sure the termination of the drive is set if, and only if, it is
the sole drive or the last drive in a chain (T jumper… hm… or has the
540 still resistor packs?).
Second you might try to disable parity checking on the drive (EP jumper
open).
The 6.6 ROMs should work just fine, but best thing is of course to have
the most recent version of the driver installed.
