I guess there is some information about how the printer device works with the
printer drivers that folks who don't have the Develepors' docs might find
interesting.
BTW–what is your payment schedule like?

Jim, I don't know for sure how much we'll be paying for articles, but so far I
gather it'll be a minimum of $80/magazine page. We have a writers' guide for
the 8-bit magazine, but haven't had time to do one for the Amiga magazine yet.
When we do, I'll probably post a copy in DL2. Meanwhile, anyone who wants a
copy of the old one (which will mostly still apply) is welcome to have one;
call the Transactor office (416-746-5273) or leave me E-mail.

I have been playing a bit with XLISP and getting (and capturing) some help
over at AIE-100. I was thinking of putting together some tips for how to get
started with the system. (NOT another intro to LISP, just a practical guide to
using XLISP from an absolute beginner's point of view.) Would something like
that be of interest?
Also, if I could get review copies, I would like to do a comparitive review of
the three outline processors (are there more) for the Amy? Actually, I would
like to SEE that review. Maybe it is more in Amazing Computing's line–or
Money Machine.

I think an XLISP tutorial would be an excellent idea. Go for it!

"Tutorial" is too strong a word for "The blind leading the blind."
Still, working on the project would help focus my mind. I am torn: COMAL,
Modula, BASIC (I Have it after all and have never used it), Lisp, COMAL, C
??????
Madness.
BTW–what is the latest on COMAL? Have you received a BETA copy yet?
Also–I noticed on another net that there is supposed to be something called
WISDOM PROLOG coming for AMY. Very expensive, professional quality stuff
according to the post-er. Also, there is supposed to be a very good Lisp in
France called Le-Lisp. A friend has the Commodore Metacomco Lisp and has never
heard from them re: upgrades and bug fixes, etc. He doesn't recommend it.
XLIPS looks like the best bet for the hobbyist by far.

Nothing on COMAL yet Jim. I guess there were more bugs that surfaced and so it
hasn't showed up yet. They said they wanted to announce at COMDEX. Let's hope
they do.

Len said there were problems do to memory and working with extra memory. I
sure hope COMAL arrives here soon. I find myself itching to fool with some
programming and I am looking at the BASIC manual again. Yoicks. Actually, it
doesn't look too bad at all–almost like COMAL in fact, but frustrating to be
so near and yet so far.
I will try to restrain myself and play with Lisp at home. I can fool with C
on the mainframe at school–just got the docs for that today.
Eric told me he would be in touch in November, so I will wait a bit before
calling him. I sure hope they don't give up at this point.
