HELP!!! I just purchased some CD roms to run on my A4000 with CD Rom drive. The 2 CD32 titles, "Insight Technology" & "Grolier Encyclopedia" both work with no problems. The CDTV title, "Illustrated Holy Bible", will NOT run no matter what I have tried. It appears that the text engine was written in AMOS? Is AMOS not compatible with new Amigas? Is there a newer AMOS runtime program? The program on the disk is RAMOS1.2. Any and all input would be appreciated. Thanks, Norm M. From Connecticut >>>>On AUTOPILOT…..

I can`t really help you much, but I have the original AMOS program (to create AMOS programs). It has RAMOS1.2 on it and it makes the AMOS program run without needing to load up the AMOS program itself. I looked in the manual but all I could find was that it turned off workbench (shut it down) – which isn`t a lot of help really. I think that version of AMOS was written before Workbench 2 so it probably doesn`t like your setup. Try down-grading your 4000 a bit. If you have any Questions you want me to look up in the AMOS Manual…. —Richard Daniel

Richard: Thanks for the input :). I have tried DEGRADER and other options to try and get the software to run, but no luck yet. The CD has 2 versions of the software, one for IBM and one for CDTV. I tried the IBM version at work and at least it works ok. I am trying to get the software to work with the PCTask IBM emulator on my machine. I have basically given up hope of getting it running on the A4000. Thanks again, Norm M. From Connecticut >>>>On AUTOPILOT…..
