RLL is MFM. RLL deals with the number of sectors allocated on a given track of a drive. Standard drives use the same number of sectors on all tracks, RLL uses more sectors on outer tracks than on the inner tracks. It makes use of the fact that the outer tracks are "longer" (linearly speaking) than the inner tracks, and therefore can have more sectors.
