Videotitler Icon

Yup, VideoTitler does reference DF0:, and it's hard-coded. I've never
tried it, but I'm sure you could hot-patch the program with something like
FileZap, changing the 'DF0:'s to 'VTR:' or something, then using ASSIGNs to
set VTR: to the hard disk directory where you put the program.
Dear Mr./Ms. Syndesis;
Well, actually, I believe VideoTitler's references to df0: would have to be
called soft-coded. VideoTitler gathers its path to look for things, as well
as various other default settings, from a file in the devs directory which
is called ".titler" . That file is a pure ASCII file which can be read and
modified with ED. I have changed all the df0:'s and df1:'s to dh1: so that
my system is quite happy running Videotitler from the hard disk alone
without the appearance of any requestors asking me to please insert disk
so-and-so. Since my defaults are set just the way I want them I would not
need to modify the program.
My problem is with the Icon for Videotitler (the "Videotitler.info" file).
I seem to be unable to get the program to run properly by clicking on the
icon. The program starts running normally, but just seems to hang after
loading the font tables. If on the other hand, I open a CLI and type two
commands ("CD DH1:Videotitler" and "Titler"), everything runs absolutely
perfectly. My problem is in trying to figure out how to get the program to
run correctly from the icon. I don't know enough about Icons to know what
they do, or what I should do to make them work.
I didn't know about the .titler file, but it sounds like you've got the
solution. As for the icon, you try entering a new higher value for the
stack, as shown by using the Info menu option from the Workbench. Try
values from 10000 to 30000.
Sorry – this is John Foust, not Mr. Syndesis. Mrs. Syndesis isn't here
right now. I think she looks like Mel Harris or Jane Seymour, but I
haven't found her yet. 🙂
You really must find her soon! (Mrs. Syndesis that is) I'm only 36,
(about 10 years older than you, I believe) and all the women I meet are
divorcees that have become so liberated they believe women are very much
superior to men!. You really must hurry!! 😉
Send me their phone number. I'm very willing to be taken care of. I'll
take care of the kids, do the wash, the cleaning, the bills, the lawn, the
garden, you name it, if I can just stay home. I don't wanna grow up, I
don't want to wear a tie… 🙂 Give me a liberated woman any day! I
want someone who fights back.
