Dennis,
I noticed your comment re: what your "in-house guru" told you
about the PC fonts. Currently, yes they can only be downloaded
via serial port, HOWEVER, in the next week or so we will have
a new version of PC fonts that can be downloaded over parallel
port as well as serial. As a registered owner of PC fonts, you
will be sent the enhanced Rev 2 downloaders free of charge.
Just thought I'd pass it along…

Sorry, but I don't quite understand your reply. I don't think we bought PC
fonts. We have the fonts that came in our NEC and I have purchased one
additional set of fonts (Helvetica light and bold) from Adobe. (That set came
with screen fonts, as well.) I presume you are affiliated with or an employee
of Adobe. How will I be able to update my hardware or software to download via
the parallel cable? And how might I obtain screen fonts for the fonts in the
NEC890 for use with an IBM AT and Ventura Publisher.
I'm just getting started with this, so pardon my slowness. I'm reading like
crazy! (But some of my employees are ahead…)
