What do you mean by font encryption? I assume you mean there is no way for me to write a PostScript program that can print out the values and BuildChar definitions for the built-in fonts? I've also heard talk about "hints", and haven't heard a good techie explanation of what they are and why Adobe fonts are the only ones with "hints".

Hmm. They must play with big magic. Let's see… they'd have to have some kind of scheme where the decrypter is in the ROM, and is invoked to operate on the downloaded font. So all you'd have to do is disassemble the code and/or tokens in the ROM. Good luck. But what about the fonts in the ROMs? Is it possible to print the contents of a font, in order to see the strokes in it?
