Ok, then you should have the following connections in the IBM cable: db25 end Centronics end 1 (STROBE) 1 2 (DATA 1) 2 3 (DATA 2) 3 4 (DATA 3) 4 5 (DATA 4) 5 6 (DATA 5) 6 7 (DATA 6) 7 8 (DATA 7) 8 9 (DATA 8) 9 10 (ACK) 10 11 (BUSY) 11 12 (PAPER OUT) 12 13 (SELECT) 36 14 (+5v) NO CONNECTION 15 (NO CONNECTION) NO CONNECTION 16 (RESET) 31 17-25 (GROUND) 19-30 (17-25 and 19-30 may be strapped on the connector and carried by a single physcial wire) If you have a cable tester…you might want to test the cable to make sure those wires are hooked up as shown above…Also, you may want to check the pin out on your printer to make sure that they follow the above. (BTW…some pinouts label data1 thru data8 as data0 thru data7 but the connections are the same).
