Well, my calculations run closer to 25-30 megabytes – that's with ALL of the
Adobe screen AND printer fonts installed on a Hard Disk.
Currently, printer fonts take up more room than (uncompressed) screen fonts,
and the entire Adobe library of screen fonts thru pkg 85 runs 10 MB
uncompressed, 6 MB compressed (using Font & Sound Valet).
What I hope to see soon (since the type 1 format is opening up) is a
compression utility for PRINTER fonts, ala Font&Sound Valet & screen fonts.

Scott–
If I remember correctly (I'm at home right now), our entire collection of
printer and screen fonts runs right around 25mb and some change…this is with
all sizes installed in the screen font suitcases, and all suitcases compressed
with Font & Sound Valet. Your calculation is on the money.
A utility like you mention–to compress *printer fonts–would be great.
Combined with ATM, allowing one to reduce the number of sizes required in each
suitcase, this would reclaim a fair chunk of real estate on a hard disk, I'd
imagine.
