#DPS QUESTION

June:
It has been suggested that the Sony SLV-R1000 is a top quality S-VHS unit. I
may be purchasing one soon myself. The cost at B&H Photo – Video in NYC is
around $800. I may have misunderstood or I may be getting too picky but your
note states "what S-VHS VCR AND VTR will work for me", that should read *or*
not *and* (as you've stated it) as you will only need one deck with the PAR.
Bob
Thankyou
But I am looking for two decks so I can do
Rotoscoping. Also can I use two of the Sony SLV-R1000
One to Record with and the other for live
Video, for rotoscoping.
June:
I guess I'm not real sure what you have in mind as I do my PAR rotoscoping with
only one VCR. Perhaps you didn't include the TBC IV in your shopping list
(less than $1000)? This would allow you to record live footage to your PAR
hard drive in real time at 752 x 480. With an .IFL file you could rotoscope
this video in 3DS without the requirement of another VCR. Just trying to save
you some money. Again, if you know you need two decks then I'm not
understanding your requirements.
Send a note to Don Landis with some details and I'm sure he can help you out.

Yes I am planing on buying the TBC IV
that where I was thinking I would need
two VCR Decks I was also looking at other
video products for editing for sound and effects
the studio magic board for windows
and would like it all to work with each other
my work in 3ds4 and live video so I can
mix it up.
Once again Thankyou
June,
PMFJI, I believe that Bob is correct. Unless there is something that you're
not telling us….The PAR and TBC IV _is_ your live video capture. The video
is saved as sequential TGA files that can then be used to do your rotoscoping
thru 3d studio's Video Post or used as animated texture maps, etc. –
Re-render the composited piece out for PAR playback and record to tape.
You should only need one tape deck !?? If I've explained this wrong I'm sure
that somebody will be quick to correct me.<G>
Gary 🙂
Gary:
June was pretty sure she needed two decks. Hey, we gave it a shot, we tried to
save her a cool grand. I wish I had money to burn like that. 🙂
