CIS Has Internet File Transfer (03-Jan-95) CompuServe members can now download files from the Internet using File Transfer Protocol. FTP, as it's known on the Internet, is a way to move data such as software programs, documents, and graphics from one site to another. CompuServe's FTP service gives you the ability to literally reach into file archives at computers on the Internet around the world. Now, members have access to thousands of files in CompuServe forum libraries as well as files only available on the Internet. The FTP service makes use of CompuServe's enhanced menus, offers lists of popular locations, and lets you access any FTP site of your choosing. FTP is one more step in CompuServe's Internet Made Easy strategy, bringing the full power of the Internet to CompuServe members in an easy-to-use format. To see the icons that enhanced menus present, members must have these versions or higher of CompuServe Information Manager: WinCIM 1.3 or MacCIM 2.4. To download the most recent version of CIM for your computer, GO CIMSOFT. To access FTP and other CompuServe Internet services, GO INTERNET.
