DPaint Problem Pt 2
1 messages in this thread
(Part 2) plotter vendors. So I called CalComp. Their techline person asked
"What's an Amiga?"!!! I knew before I made the call to Commodore that I'd get
stuck in a finger pointing war. I've been in the computer business long enough
to see it coming far in advance. But my business is going to depend on DPaint
working properly.
I asked that EAC even just give me the patch locations so I could insert an EOT
marker, but nothing doing.
My solution was to buy Photon Paint v2.0. A nice program, and it works
properly with the plotter, but since I'm working with non-HAM images, using
Photon Paint just to print is time consuming.
Does anyone have any idea what I should do? I'm going to call EAC back and
scream at them if I don't get a proper response from their techline staff.
I'll insist on talking to someone in authority in order to get this fixed. If
that doesn't work, I'm going to start writing letters to the mags.
This isn't just my problem. Anyone working with a print device which doesn't
use form feeds for page ejects is going to have problems too.
Has anyone else seen this problem? Does anyone know the patch points within
DPaint and know the new code to patch in to properly work with the plotter? I
suspect that all I need to do is to patch in EOT characters in the place of
FF's, but as I've never disassembled anything, and my business has gone into
production mode, I don't have a whole lot of time to devote to disassembling
the code myself.
Any help, questions or comments would be greatly appreciate. I'll let you all
know what I find out from the other end as well.
