#Transfer AMIGA to IBM

I need to move files from an AMIGA 2000 to an IBM compatible machine.
Does anyone know what media format the AMIGA uses? Is there a translation
program which will write an IBM or MS-DOS compatible format to a disk
in an AMIGA machine? I have a copy of Media Master 3, but of the
80 media formats available, none is for an AMIGA. Also do most of the
AMIGA word processors have a way to export an ASCII or ANSI standard file?

Depending on the verison of the Amiga OS you have, the program needed
to allow the Amiga to read/write MS-DOS formatted floppies is already there.
Version 2.1 and above have CrossDOS built in. Otherwise, you'll have
to buy a copy of it at a dealer's. CrossDOS allows the Amiga to read/write
MS-DOS formatted 720K diskettes (or 1.44 Meg if you happen to have Amiga HD
floppies).

access it. If not, have you used Mtools, which is in the library of this forum?

Get hold of CrossDOS, as supplied wioth Workbench 3. Allows you to assign DF0:
as a DOS drive. Sorted.

I've used Dos-2-Dos reliably for some time. You may have CrossDos already
and MessDOS is a shareware program that does something similar. D2D just
does simple file transfers and directory reads.
I can't think of any Amiga wordprocessors that don't export ASCII.
WordWorth also exports RTF and other clone formats but in the latter case
most of the tags are lost so you may as well use RTF.
Something I find convenient for transferring files just for printing from
clones is the CMD command. After I transfer the file I can do a copy/b
direct to the printer.
