Where – oh where – have all the friendly and interesting folk who use their Amiga(s) for VIDEO PRODUCTION – gone ?? The only thing I now see in the Amiga collection of Forums, is a thing called "Desktop Video". It is rather like having to look at the unsteady production of Uncle Joe's funeral – taken by Auntie Maude. Has everybody given up on the Amiga for video production ? Am I now alone in the wilderness ?? Perhaps Marc will take me (and any other lonely videophile) under his warm wing in Consumer Electronics ?? Weeping – and in great distress …… Hilary.

Hilary, you are reading AmigaArts as well as AmigaUser, right? It would probably be more emphasized there. — Ethan

Hilary, "Desktop Video" is the place for all video discussion. Steve

Fear not, young one. Amiga video is alive and well. I am using my Amiga in industrial/education level production all the time. Moreover, NewTek IS NOW SHIPPING the long awaited video Toaster. What an amazing machine–every report I read on the gizmo details some new and profound capability. I hope to have my very own in a few short weeks. This gadget will, IMHO, revolutionize the computer/video industry. The most significant obstacle is the relative lack of respect for Commodore computers. In sum, do not fear the silence. There are many friends in the forest. <-SJK->

A significant portion of our customer base at Syndesis appear to be professional video people – they have companies with "Studios" in the company title, or they look like a cable TV station or a local TV station… I know they're out there. Obviously, you've seen Avid magazine. 🙂 I've been thinking about writing for them, too. With the advent of the Toaster, I think there's more need for an Amiga-friendly video mag. Wouldn't you agree? And what could you do to make the Amiga forum more popular with video-heads? I'm sure Steve would be very receptive to any scheme you've got.
