Does anyone know how to make a DPAINT III picture color cycle automatically
when it is loaded into a viewing program? Can you edit the IFF file to
start cycling automatically?

Most display programs have the ability to turn on/off color cycling via
command line switches. Check the docs for the display program. (or often
just typing the program name and '?' will print a list of allowed commands
— ie SuperView ? will list the color cycle switch for it, etc)
In DPaintIII the picture is automatically saved with the settings of the
palette color cycle settings. That allows you to set upto six ranges (I
think) the cycle independently, and have them stored with the file. Some
display programs will automatically use this info, others will require
specifically turning the cycling on.
Oh, there are usually WB Icon settings that do the same thing as the
command line switches, if launching from the WB is your style.

I don't think you can do any thing to a Dpaint pic to make it auto
cycle. Could be wrong here. BUT if you use Super View to look at the
picture you have Options when you call the program that will auto cycle if
cycling is contained in the picture. Super View should be in the libraries
here.
