Mark, I am using the MhFileSelctor2 routine in VBTools. Is there a way to allow the user to change the filespecs while inside MhFileSelector2 and have it refresh the file list rather than returning? For example if you enter *.* in the FILE field, MhFileSelector2 will simply return "*.*" instead of redisplaying the file list. There is 1 Reply.

Victor, I'm amazed that nobody has found that bug before now! Here's the fix for the FILEOS2.FRM, FileOpenSpec_KeyPress Sub procedure Where it now has: Temp$ = FileOpenSpec.Text Add this immediately after that line: If InStr(Temp$, "?") Or InStr(Temp$, "*") Then FileOpenSpec_LostFocus FileOpenSpec_GotFocus Exit Sub End If Mark P.S. Because you have Muscle for VB, you might want to take a look at the common dialog routines in Muscle, especially the MhGetOpenFile and MhGetSaveFile routines.

Thanks again Mark. Let me take time to say that your assistance on CIS has been tremendously helpful. I will look at the Muscle routines once I receive my package. I am not going the gripe about the postal service but they've been very slow around here. Victor.

Mark, >"I'm amazed that nobody has found that bug before now!" I found it the first day I fired it up, but thought it was WAD! 🙂 john k There is 1 Reply.

John, Thanks for letting me know about WAD. I haven't been able to sleep since you mentioned it! <g> Seriously, Victor brought up an excellent point – there are two "flavors" of that dialog in VBTools and the "1" routine worked as you might expect, while the "2" did not. As soon as he pointed out the problem, we modified it so they both provided the same capabilities with respect to the wildcards. If you come across something of a similar nature, or even if you have an idea of how we can improve things, please don't be bashful about making suggestions! Mark There is 1 Reply.

Mark, >"05-Oct-91 04:41:42" Incedentally, when do you sleep anyway?? Or, are there more than one of you hiding _behind_ the "pen name" of Mark Novisoff? Inquiring minds want to know. john k There is 1 Reply.

John, Sleep? Is that another acronym? I used to be a "night" person, but the last year or so of developing goodies for VB has changed my metabolism. So now it's early to bed…. I get my best work done before everybody else arrives for work. Mark
