Help!!! I purchased a A-3000/25 with the 50meg quantum disk drive. The
system worked great! I replaced the quantum with a maxtor 213 meg drive,
low level formated it, ADOS formatted it, and then used the floppy disks to
reinstall the system.
Now the problem, on initial power up boot, I get the screen requesting how
I want to boot the system (the same one that I used to get if I held down
both mouse buttons) with the hard disk sections ghosted out. If I click
the cancle then the system boots up in dos 2.0 from the hard disk.
I tried the two programs that adjust the SCSI timeout thinking that the
disk was not ready ie. Initialized after powerup. These had no effect on
my problem but they do affect the system speed after the dos is loaded.
It may be somewhere in the manuals but I have not found it yet. Is there a
way of telling AMY to increase the wait before accessing the disk drive the
first time?
Would increasing my memory (now 2 megs) help? (Making POST last longer)
Any help|ideas?
