Sure! Everything Gary says is true….
We script our games using Play, it is possible to fix the background and
overlay a .cel or .flc on top of that fixed background, it is also possible
to fix a mask to the background, so that an animation can pass in front of
the mask.
To test all this out, I scripted Space Invaders (now I have to tidy it up
to upload here and send to Mr. Yost), but we've since scripted some very
complicated games in Play.
Groovie will compile these ascii play scripts into .grv play scripts, as
well as allow interactive authoring of such movies/games.
