Ben,
Left another picture in AmigaArts, Copperblob.lzh which you can
cross-load. Its big 640X480 but shows off IP very well in the bigger screen
format.
Margaret- I happen to be *very* cheap when it comes to downloading from CIS
or BBS's BBS. Could you possibly post reduced size format of some of your
work so that a reasonable decision could be made whether to DL the full
size. I've seen your work, some of it, and like it a lot, but not enough
for a >100K DL.
This isn't a complaint, perhaps a suggestion, and one that covers many
ofhter uploads as well.

That's a good suggestion, Michael. I've wanted for years for the CIS
sysops to post small versions of images uploaded (ie. 1/4 size) so that I
could just see the content of the images first. But the sysops say that
would take up too much file space room (or something like that).
OTOH, I've yet to see a Margaret Copeland picture that I wasn't glad I had
downloaded. 🙂

I've tried giffing some of these and sorry to say they just lose so much. I
use the smaller file size 320X400 but to be honest some of them look much
better larger. Going down to 256 colors unless you design your art that way
is a come down.
I am having trouble showing your IGUANA.24 pic. I have a HAM-E Plus but SV
or C-SHOW or any of my normal show routines don't seem to work. The
computer will lock up cause me to reboot. I have an A500 with 3 meg of
ram. What am I doing wrong? -John-

Have no idea. Maybe the file got corrupted on the download. I have Ham-E
Plus, file size for it isn't that large hmmmm. Are you viewing it with IP?
Some PD viewers can't handle 24 bit files and they don't talk to the Ham-E.
Using IP or ADPro solved the problem. I am now enjoying your work and
appreciate your creating it.

John, are you trying to 'show' Iguana.24 with a regular viewer program? If
so, I don't doubt that they crash!
Iguana.24 is a 24bit IFF picture, and IFF24 pictures are *not* directly
viewable in SuperView, DPaint, or any other 'show' program that I know of.
In order to view it, you'll need:
1) in HAM-E, you'll need to use either HAM-E's IP program, or ADPro.
2) in regular amiga resolutions, you'll need to use ADPro.

Helps a lot! I used IP and then displayed in HAM-E 24bit. Using ADPro I
had to do a bit of thinking since there are so many options to me – not
used to all the mind work (10 year MS-DOS convert for 6 months now :-)).
Anyway, back in my pea brain I knew that the 24 bit existence was the key.
I had just assumed that all HAM-E was the same. Ah well, another day of
education for us old folks. Thanks again.

Margaret- I understand. For folks like me that have to use a long distance
carrier plus compuserve charges, the costs for dl's gets to be prohibitive.
I do some 16 color hi res art, have put some in Amigaarts you might like.
However when I do the more limited palette, I design for it. One I did
landed in Nudes, as 3Muses.lzh and another is in new uploads, FishI.lzh.
Both have relatively small file sizes.

I agree — and here's another excuse for you to use IP! With IP it's
easy to shrink images and composite them into one "gallery" picture. You
could upload one of these for every four regular images, perhaps.
