You should start another Subtopic on CD-ROM Extended Architecture. Now
that this has become an official standard, there is growing interest in
CD-ROM XA.

What do you see as the future for XA in relation to Microsoft's MPC
platform standard. I.E. Will we see a MPC XA????

Hi Bill,
I really can't speak to what Microsoft will do concerning CD-ROM XA. XA is
becoming more and more popular with OEMS (Sony, Fujitsu and Philips have
shown versions – Kodak and Nintento have announced CD-ROM XA licenses from
Philips).
If XA gets to be very popular, I'm sure that Microsoft will address it one
way or another. XA is a great standard, and really adds tremendous power
to multimedia presentations. The ability to have INTERLEAVED COMPRESSED
audio and data streaming into the system on a "just in time" basis, makes
for interesting applications.
