To all,
Of general interest- I called impulse about a week ago and this weekend
received the "final" version of light24. One unexpected feature you might
be excited about is the ability to import imagine object files directly to
light24. The files are rendered directly to the firecracker, you can scale
and rotate in light24, place a light source, and define a brush map. Very
slick. Not quite a full implementation of imagine to the firecracker but
quite a feature. Still playing, let you know more as I figure some things
out. Oh, yeah, I even got instructions with the program.(!)

Instructions!!! For Light24??? You lucky dog. They sent me the docs
for installing the FC24 board instead.

When I spoke to Impulse they said they were considering adding VD-1 support
to the already existing scanner support, is it in there?

Glad you got your copy, I've been playing with it over a week now
and I continue to be impressed. Easy to work with, flexible, and you can
really push it, stretch the tools out. Currently I'm using the airbrush
tool, sized small, to do my rough sketching. You get a very evocitive
line. It's quick and responsive and the tonal effect is as good as pencil
on paper, maybe better (which since I was trained in traditonal media is
saying a lot) Light is slick, smooth, and doesn't get in the way. I'm
very pleased. The color pallet I'm still not sure about, it's a little
awkward if you're looking for particular colors, but with the second page
feature implemented its easy to page over, select some colors and mix like
with a real pallet. Nice feature. Have you looked at ImageMaster from
BlackBelt yet? I'm considering a purchase, especially if they've
implemented JPEG. Let me know what you're working on with Light, I'm always
interested in sharing perspectives, (or general kibbitzing)
