#Alpha Paint

Hi Steve,
I heard THAT! Guess both Advanced Systems and those guys in Montreal (who are
they?) have put their 060 cards on hold till the big M chipmaker sees fit to
give them the 060 chip in mass or so I'm told. The demand for the 060 is high
almost every user I speak with plans on getting one. I am mearly trying to make
users realize that piracy is/was one of the reasons the Aimga got into trouble
and why we don't see more companies develop products in support of the
platform. Alpha Paint was 4-5 years in development and does things NO other
paint/graphics product for the Amiga/Toaster can do (and I try hard not to be
too comercial here on the net) but, bottom line is if the users don't support
us we'll have to move on. BTW Congrads on the DTV Forum! I've already found it
helpful personally and I look forward to helping any of our users that join the
Forum. Happy New Year! I predict that by the end of 1995 the Amiga will be back
and growing stronger. I somtimes wonder if it wasn't a conspiracy by the big
networks, cable, post houses, IBM/MAC, etc. to push the Amiga/Toaster out of
the market so that they could continue to charge outragous prices. My book is
due out in late 95 with a working title of ToasterTV (and yes I DO own the
Trademark! 🙂 as is the network/weekly show that I and a few others are putting
together to highlight the Amiga/Toaster phenomenon. I'd welcome yours and
others thoughts and input! Send me your most outraougs Toaster story.
All The Best,

Hi Tom,
I use the Toaster both at my day job and in my home studio. I have
often felt that the Toaster has been playing against a stacked deck. So
many people have such good reasons to trash it. I have had dealings with
people who fall into all these catagories.
"The Toaster is not Broadcast quality" from vendors that sell dedicated
broadcast quality boxes for many thousands of dollars and see that market
slowly being erroded by computer based systems.
The same above statement is echoed by people who have spent many thousands
of dollars buying those dedicated boxes and they repeat it over and over
again so they can sleep at night 🙂
"When are they gonna make a Toaster that works in a REAL computer?" by
people who don't have a clue about the AMIGA or the OMEGA as they call it.
The real power of the Toaster is that it is more than just the Toaster
Board and its own software. Its the multi-tasking power of the AMIGA and
all the powerfull programs such as yours and a hundred others that can all
work together in different combinations to create whatever you can
imagine.
Some people just don't get it…
Some people get it but just can't or won't admitt it.
Happy New Year and good luck with your book.
