I'm posting this for a client. He's looking for some help to complete an animation project in 3D Studio (R3). He wants to be able to accurately model the motions and collisions of billiard balls on a pool table. Does anyone know of an IPAS routine that will do this? If so, please let us know how we can order. Thanks

Hi Jayson, << accurately model the motions and collisions of billiard balls on a pool table. Does anyone know of an IPAS routine that will do this? >> In 3DS R4, there is a keyframe scripting language example that does just this. Do you have Release 4 yet? jonas[adesk]

In addition to what Jonas said, the Positron folks and the Schreiber Instruments people are both going to be shipping KXP dynamics packages very soon. – G

>Positron folks and the Schreiber Instruments people are both going to be shipping >KXP dynamics packages very soon. I've seen the literature on the Positron stuff (available January 16th, apparently) but haven't heard or seen anything from Schreiber. Any idea how the two will compare? (I realize in your position you can't be undiplomatic, but even general terms would be helpful)

Until I see the release versions of both of them, I can't make any specific comments. I'm sure that you'll get plenty of comments from their beta testers here on the forum once they're shipping. – G
