I have been watching CBM stock prices on the NYSE, and they have been going down, but so have Apple's, and everybody's. The stock market has been going down for some weeks. CBM tends to go up when the Dow Jones Averages go up, and down when the Dow goes down. Surely CBM employees wouldn't sell their stock below the market. In fact, for about the last 10 days CBM has been a little up. I'm sure it will rise even more with the announcement of the A4000, the AGA chipset, the new CMOS chips (with multi-source arrangements), etc., etc.

Hi Pat, Thanks for the stock info. It's tough to decide whether to publish rumours like these because, one day, they might well be true. Are the rumours mere scare-mongering doing damage to Commodore and the Amiga community or are they providing some form of service to news hungry Amiga users? As someone else said, Usenet have published other rumours in the past. Good or bad? Whaddya reckon? Paul

Paul, Usenet is probably one of the least reliable sources of information. Nothing on it is checked (or censored for that fact)…it's simply folks posting messages much like here. I used to have a usenet feed, after a relatively short time, I dropped most of the sections…they were 99.9% "noise" and the rest was mostly common knowledge. When I lost my usenet feed…my attitude was so soured on it that my feelings were, "Great, one less phone call to make each night…and no more garbage to wade thru." Don
