I would appreciate any names and/or telephone numbers for dealers who could sell me: PAR DPS with a Hard Disk TBC Numdump (?) or equivalent software to network render 3ds files to the Par HD. I bought all my stuff from Rising Star Graphics in Chicago Il Paul Lempke is the guy you want to talk to. Please tell him Bob Tasa is the one who sent you. They are very knowledgeable and the priceing is fare. They also deal in Razor Pro. Rising Star Graphics 1-312-836-7827 Bob The Design Shop Inc.

Carlton, I've been doing some PAR research lately, too. Seems DPS and every PAR dealer under the sun, or at least the 15 or so I tried (DPS will give you dealer #'s over the phone) are currently out of stock on the PAR. TBC IV, no problem. The woman I talked to at DPS said they would not be shipping until at least the 20th. As far as PAR prices go, the cheapest I found was B&H in NYC, at $1690. Dealer price is around $1600, I believe, or maybe a little less. For drives, check out the Micropolis 2217a–1.7G, recently discontinued but still available and on sale at MegaHaus for a slim $750. That's the largest capacity drive available for the PAR at this time. A lot of places, including Insight, are already sold out of it. If you manage to wrangle up a dealer with a few dusty PAR boards still on the shelf, please, let me know. Alan

Alan- Thanks for the info re: PAR. I talked to Digimation about a week ago and they still had 5 on their backorder that were not spoken for. I was told I could be put on their list at that time. I need 3 firm quotes before my Purchasing Department will sign off so thats why I posted my message. I'll try B&H thanks to your info. Do you know by any chance what drives PAR will support now that the Micropolis 2217a–1.7 gig. is discontinued? Carlton

Carlton, Besides the discontinued Micropolis drives, the ONLY drive so far certified by DPS is the 1.2 Gig Conner CFA1275A. Kevin Krell – Computer Support Associates

Kevin, thanks for the Micropolis and Conner info re: PAR Drives. I'm not sure what to do; buy a Conner or try and find someone with a Micropolis. Hmmmm. Carlton

Alan, I am a PAR dealer, as of today when I spoke with Digital Processing the current ship date for new stock of PC PAR's is the end of the month. I am trying to track down a supplier of the 2217A that you say can be purchased at Megahaus (Could you help put me in touch with them so I can stock-up?) Please call collect (503) 292-5119. I would also be happy to answer any PAR, TBCIV, Razor questions you may have. Thanks, Kurt Macey Oregon Data Products
