Anyone know of any real good 24bit morphing software? I need some in a big hurry…

Sure Doug… Morph by Gryphon should handle any still morphs you might want to do. It's available for the Mac II familly and will save the movie as a Quicktime movie. If you need the resulting movie on a PC, you can convert the QT movie to a string of TGA's or a .FLC file (I use DeBablizer to do this…). I don't recall if you have a Mac, if not I can probably do the job for you… Paul Unterweiser, Unterweiser Studio-Animation

I've seen some of the output of this program and it's very hip! AAPro and 3DS ought to implement the same functionality. IMHO David Taffet

Um. I need it in 4096x3112x24 bits. Hardly a Quicktime movie! I have the info on Gryphon though. Thanks. They are in San Diego…

Doug, For the PC? PC Morph by Black Ice Software Inc., Somers, NY. I don't know anything about it, other than a blurb about it in the August CGWorld, page 89. David

I tried to call them and got no number from Directory Assistance. Seems like Black Ice is a Black Hole… If anyone has more info on Black Ice, please let me know!

BTW Doug, from what I understand about Morph is that it isn't resolution dependent, and assuming you've got enough memory, you should be able to do your high res morph… You might also check the Amiga forums, there are a half a dozen morph apps that run on an Amiga… DOS don't always do it… (grin) Paul Unterweiser, Unterweiser Studio-Animation

Doug, I've been messing around with morphing using a combination of Topas and 3-DS. I've uploaded an example which was done at 24 bit then TGAFLI'd down to 8 bit . My method is quite tedious and involves multiple rotoscope passes and manual touch-up as well as mesh editing. At the resolutions you proposed this would take forever to render and require gigabyte storage capacities. Just thought I'd cheer you up. Bruce

Storage I'm not worried about. I'll look at your upload. Thanks…
