#resolution

Can anyboby tell me why my animations always end up as a fli file at 320 by
200 even though a click on 512 by 480 and it starts out as a flc file? I
was hoping to get a higher resolution file for transfer to vhs. Thanks.
Give us a step-by-step of what you go through to render at 512×480 (and the
type of display device you're rendering to). Without that, it's hard to
make a guess–but I'll make one anyway. I suspect you might be setting the
rendering resolution in the 3D Editor, and then rendering the animation
from the Keyframer.

Be sure that you're also changing the rendering device to null, for 256
color output, or to the ADI driver if you're using a targa. If it's still
set at the default VGA320x200, it'll output 320×200 no matter what numbers
you put in the boxes.

Dan,
you have to set your display driver to NULL in order to get higher res
flics. Renderer/Setup/Configure. Otherwise it renders to screen
resolution. An unfortunate thing, but that's the way it is – Gary when are
you guys going to change that?
Anil
Change it to what?

How would you expect us to change it? I can't see any other way to make it
possible to output a file in a higher-resolution than your display device.

How about a "Hey dufus – wake and smell the coffee" message? 'Course, I've
never set the resolution higher than the driver could handle (right!). LAM
